NOAA Science Advisory Board to Hear Recommendations
on Climate Services
Deputy Under Secretary for Oceans and Atmosphere, Mary Glackin will deliver remarks at the 34th Science Advisory Board (SAB) meeting to be held March 9-10 in Silver Spring, Md.
WHAT: In addition to recommendations on climate services, the meeting agenda includes comments from National Weather Service concerning fire weather research, NOAA’s response to the SAB report on engaging NOAA constituents, and response to recommendations on high performance computing.
The Science Advisory Board is the only federal advisory committee with responsibility to advise the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere on long and short-range strategies for research, education and the application of science to resource management and environmental assessment and prediction. The board meets three times a year to interact with NOAA leadership, advise NOAA on critical issues, and learn about important science-related activities within NOAA.
